Dora Schubert Hauptstrasse 18-d D-21465 Wentorf Germany impressum Dora is presently living with her family in Germany. Many of her works are inspired by colors in nature and textiles, Moorish designs and architecture as well as the microscopic world of cells and bacterium. more »
Dora makes her beads with soda-lime glass - using Effetre, Vetrofond, ASK104, Creative Is Messy and Lauscha - using an oxygen/propane torch. Each bead is placed in a kiln where it is annealed overnight - the annealing process ensures stability and durability in the glass beads.
Since April 2006, Dora has teamed up with Elizabeth Prior - Portland, Maine - to produce a new line of finished jewelry - neckpieces, rings and pins. The glass cabochons made by Dora are now bezel-set by Elizabeth, using fine silver bezel and sterling silver base. In Spring 2007, a new range of pendants were added on to the collection. Dora participates regularly in events in Europe and the USA. Her work is presently on display and maybe purchased at the following galleries: Arts Afire Gallery, Alexandria, Virgina, USA Glass Studio Hand, Nara, Japan Please contact Dora directly at dora@doraschubert.com for further information on purchasing her work.
